TURN UP UNFILTERED

Describe yourself in 3 words.
- Really bad at math

Which song, out of all your releases do you hold closest to your heart?
- I’m intensely invested in a song up until it’s release but as soon as it’s out in the world, I kind of let go of it. But if I had to pick one it would be ‘Call me?’ because I got to make it with my brother.

How do you think your experience working with talent in Bangladesh, and abroad has impacted your work? What would your advice be to someone who’s trying to follow the same path as yours?
- Throughout my creative journey so far, collaboration has been at the center of it. When you work with others, and it clicks, it’s next level. Find people who are on the same wavelength and make as much music as you can-- not only will you get better, you’ll have a blast doing it.

What did you study in college, and what made you decide music is something you want to pursue?
- I studied political science at school & enjoyed it a lot but I always knew I was going to be in the creative field. Music, however, was not my plan. Once I moved back to LA I made Worth It with a super talented friend of mine, Devesh Dayal, but it really was just for fun. At some point I remember being sad and bored, and started writing down the things I was going through. Soon after, I met Arif Elahi (homie, producer, mad genius) and once we linked that was that. Lil Late was born.

Describe your ideal collaboration.
- It would be with two Bangladeshi artists, Kadin and Altervers. They both make music I love and if all three of us could do something together it would probably be my favorite song ever. We have so many talented artists and I look forward to working with them all one day hopefully.

What is your most favorite part of the whole process of creating music?
- The drive back home listening to a super rough demo of something we just recorded. That’s my favorite.
