A freelance artist, animator, writer and filmmaker from Dhaka, Bangladesh
Can you describe yourself in 3 words?
- “A bit mad”
How has Women in Arts shaped you and your path?
- It’s not only given me connections, friendships, and opportunities but also new interests and an eagerness for exploring different art forms. For example, ‘Wild Women’ is a body-neutral fashion show in our pipeline, and I’m eager to organize it despite not knowing anything about Fashion.
What’s the story behind ‘Whiny Women’?
- ‘Whiny Women’ is, if it’s at all unclear, an ironic title. It’s sort of an inside joke, because I thought of the name while arguing about feminism on Facebook. The art show came together after cofounder Zarin Subha Rodela approached me with the idea, and I knew that’s what I had to name it even before we curated any pieces. The turnout exceeded our expectations, and this was due to the unified efforts of all cofounders, including Alveera Rahman and Sagorika Haque.
