TURN UP UNFILTERED

Describe yourself in 3 words?
- Weird, Perfectionist, Dreamer

You grew up as a Nemesis fan to now being a Nemesis Guitarist. This makes us believe dreams DO come true. What more do you want to do to make your future self proud?
- Yes! In order to make my future-self proud, I want to be connected with music more than ever. I want to give back to the industry that helped me grow into the person I am today. I will only consider this something to be proud of when I believe I have made a difference!

During the lockdown, how did you stay connected to music and practice at home? Have you picked up any new skills?
- As a musician, I believe you can always find a way to connect with music, regardless of any situation you may find yourself in. During lockdown, I would pick up my guitar and play by myself-- sometimes through online sessions, to remain connected with music. An important skill I’ve picked up, outside of music, is learning how to connect with my family more (which is indeed a skill I believe!) I’ve learned how to spend and value the quality time I spend with them and this lockdown has brought us closer than ever. Same goes for Nemesis, connecting through music at a difficult time has brought us closer than ever. We are all one family.

Our ’sources’ tell us that you like experimenting with gadgets? Does that mean you are curious in nature?
- This one is a funny one! Haha! Yes, I have always been curious and enjoy experimenting with different things. I remember dismantling every toy I would buy and trying to put them back together again.

Do you get pre-performance jitters? If so, how do you keep calm?
- Practice makes perfect. I’ve been lucky to be performing with the best professionals, who I can dearly call my band members, and eventually with more and more shows, you learn how to keep calm.

Can you think of a song that, no matter what, makes you happy? How about a song that helped you get through the tough times this year?
- It is hard to pin just one. There have been many that helped me get through difficult times.
